Who we are hiring for:

Job Title: Resident Care Assistant for the Assisted Living Department.

Pay: $15.00 +

Hours: 2FT positions available.2:00pm-10:00pm and 10:00pm-6:00am.

Requirements:

We require all our employees to have a Mandatory Reporter Certificate for adult abuse. This is free to obtain at the https://dhs.iowa.gov/ website.

This is a prerequisite and employees cannot start work until this is completed. All Holy Spirit Retirement Home employees are required to pass a physical, drug test, TB test, and thorough background check before employment may begin.

Description: Under the direction of the Registered or Licensed Nurse Manager/ Designee, the Resident Care Assistant will provide routine daily cares/services for our residents in our assisted living areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment.

  • Check residents routinely to ensure that their safe and that their personal needs are met.

  • Assist in the dining process, serving residents their meals. Report changes in the residents eating habits to the Manager. As well as performing after meal care removing trays, cleaning resident’s hands, faces and clothing.

  • Clean equipment, closets, drawers, beds, and other resident living spaces as assigned.

  • Assist with personal hygiene needs, including residents who may be using adult briefs, or incontinence pads.

  • Transport residents when needed to meals, activities etc.

  • Develop and maintain a good working rapport with other departments within the community to assure that daily activities can be performed without interruptions.

  • Ensure safety in our Assisted Living home environment. Report all hazardous conditions and equipment to the Supervisor. Follow established safety precautions in the performance of all duties.

  • Ensure that all nursing care is provided privately.

  • Attend and participate in scheduled training, in-service training, mandatory annual in-service training, and educational classes as required/needed.

  • Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals in accordance with the community policies and procedures.

  • Complete tasks such as: water pass, clean dining tables, pick up room trays, make beds, do activities.
