Bloomberg Senior Data Management Professional - Data Product Owner- Commercial Real Estate Assets in Skillman, New Jersey

Our Team:

The Global Securitized Products Data Team is responsible for researching and supporting a $12 trillion global securitized product market. The securitized product market uses financial engineering to transform a variety of assets (residential and commercial mortgages, auto and equipment leases, managed corporate loan portfolios, credit card debt, and even music royalties) into securities that are structured to meet nearly any investor appetite. Our team supports the full data lifecycle and analytical capabilities, through reverse financial engineering, of all securitized products globally for Bloomberg.

What’s the role?

As a Data Management Professional for Commercial Real Estate (RE) Assets, you will leverage your domain expertise to drive strategies to create, maintain and enhance the financial data that feeds Bloomberg products. Specifically you will be focused on all Commercial RE related assets underlying Securitized Products and how to strategize around delivering fit-for-purpose solutions for Bloomberg clients. You will be expected to identify innovative workflow efficiencies, fully diagram and express technical solutions to enhance our systems, products and processes, and establish relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, related to Commercial RE Assets underlying Securitized Product.

You will use your market knowledge and experience to define what a fit-for-purpose data product looks like. You will work to plan and deliver the data modeling, technology strategy and roadmap which should align to the overall product vision.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Develop data-driven strategies, balancing the best of technical and product knowledge, and work with our engineering and product departments to craft solutions

  • Define what a fit-for-purpose Commercial RE Asset product related to Securitized Products looks like, and ensure data product health metrics are readily measured and transparent

  • Spearhead creation of the linkage of Commercial RE Assets to various Securitized Products sectors

  • Partner with Product and Engineering to ensure deliverables are well understood, and align with the overall business goals

  • Produce metrics that measure business impact and success

  • Keep abreast of the competitive environment and client trends within the Commercial Assets space

  • Make effective decisions in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment

  • Work with Marketing and Sales to promote our product to clients

You’ll need to have

  • A BA/BS degree or higher in relevant data technology field, or equivalent professional work experience

  • 4+ years’ experience of professional work experience in Data Product Ownership or related field

  • Proficiency in being comfortable discussing technical concepts and experience evaluating trade-offs in design with Engineering

  • Strong aptitude for problem solving particularly to modify and enhance processes and workflows

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially when explaining technical processes and solutions to business stakeholders and management

  • Ability to influence others and lead change

  • Experience with communicating and coordinating with internal/external groups to define project scope and meet project deliverables across the implementation process

We’d like to see

  • An advanced degree/masters/PhD in Economics/Finance

  • Demonstrated ability in crafting systems for data processing and data modeling

  • Product Manager experience bringing sophisticated products to market

  • Experience using a Scrum Agile process

  • High attention to detail and degree of demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated experience interpreting fixed income documentation, understanding of finance and themes in the market
