Location: Skillman, NJ-moving to Summit, NJ in or around early 2025

Travel %: 10%

Pay: 88,000.00 to $ 140,000.00 (If compliant with country laws)

What you will do

The Staff Engineer - Consumer Experience Quality Engineering is responsible for the translation of consumer & customer product quality requirements into product lifecycle improvements aimed at improving the consumer & customer experience. The Staff Engineer will work at a technical expertise level involving process development fundamentals that supports corrections / improvements. You will be accountable to innovate, trouble-shoot, facilitate and drive continuous improvement of products and/or processes. You will lead technical projects from beginning to end and will collaborate within a technical team and perform as an individual contributor.

The role requires the use of a variety of statistical tools to validate process improvements and will require the use of process characterization and optimization using designed experiments, problem solving and decision-making tools. This position partners cross-functionally with various organizations such as R&D, Quality, Supply Chain and requires the development of strong partnerships. The ability to work independently and communicate effectively horizontally and vertically is vital for success.

Key Responsibilities

Guided by consumer insights and utilizing data from a variety of sources (e.g complaints, ratings & reviews, consumer & customer feedback, etc), identify opportunities, design, develop and execute innovative solutions to enhance the consumer and customer experience for our products and services.

Define & resolve complex issues to improve consumer & customer experience through robust problem-solving methodologies, gives technical ideas and concepts that impact project success.

Proactively investigates and develops improvements to existing processes or develops new processes. Development may include prototyping solutions which may require test method development and validation.

Guided by proactive quality approach, execute data analysis, and share valuable insights for NPD/ product lifecycle improvements aimed at improving the consumer experience from a quality perspective.

Manage multi-functional projects that require project management leadership skills and delivery of business prioritized projects.

Collaborate and coordinates cross-functional teams as necessary to achieve project completion (feasibility to launch).

Reviews progress and evaluate results of multiple projects across various disciplines. Accurate planning, timely delivery, and reporting for all project deliverables.

Define incremental value from solutions to be implemented.

Perform a variety of engineering assignments with little to no direction and is a self-starter.

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree is required with a focus on engineering (Packaging, Chemical, etc) or relevant scientific/technical related field.
6 years of experience in R&D, Packaging, Quality Engineering, Quality assurance or related field.
Experience in a regulated industry (GMP environment, quality or product development for cosmetics, medical devices and/or pharma)
Excellent analytical and strong problem-solving skills, root-cause analysis, and risk assessments needed.
Experienced with design and statistical analysis of experiments is required.
Strong knowledge of good manufacturing practices, understanding of manufacturing equipment and processes; Familiarity with manufacturing and validation in a regulated (FDA) environment
Project management experience
Cross-departmental experience (R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, etc.)
Demonstrate strong leadership and influencing skills
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Flexible, agile, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Must be passionate about improving consumer experience, Hands-on, self-starter and executes a variety of assignments with little to no direction.

Desired Qualifications
Experience in product design, development and/or commercialization.
Achievement of Six Sigma/Green Belt/Black Belt certified highly preferred.
Understanding Digital tools and Data analytics highly preferred.
Knowledge of cost structures relative to the delivery of high-quality, business-valued initiatives highly desired.
