EMSL is seeking a Laboratory Analyst (Microbiology) in Smyrna, GA. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees. Experienced analysts are welcomed to apply.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Preparation and analysis of Microbiological samples (air, water, and bulk materials) for fungi and bacteriaIdentification of different fungal spores, bacteria, and fungiClassical and advanced methods for microbial and bio-aerosol analysisDaily activities include analyzing samples with unknown IDs, diluting, plating, filtration, and autoclave operationsMaintaining the Quality Assurance/Quality Control Program and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Record data in a specified manner per our standard operating procedureHelp with maintaining and troubleshooting equipment as neededFill in reports and send reports to clientsOther duties may be assigned to meet laboratory needsRequirements:Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology or Biological Science is preferredAbility to multi-task and adhere to requirements of the Quality Management SystemSome environmental microbiology laboratory experience is a plusCandidate must be able to distinguish between colors in order to perform analysisAbility to work with Phase Contrast and Light Microscopes, analytical balances, biological safety cabinets, filtration manifolds, and adhere to sterile techniques and good lab practicesMust have good communications skills (candidate will have some client interaction)Good computer skills, both in typing and MS Office SuiteAttention to detail and the ability to maintain client confidentialityWork independently and with a teamWork under pressure and meet deadlines Available Shift: Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EMSL offers full time benefits: medical, dental, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holiday pay and a flexible spending account.To find out more about EMSL Analytical, Inc. please visit our website at: www.emsl.com EOE including Veterans and Disabled.
