Description
A thriving company in Spokane seeks a Senior HR Generalist with Payroll expertise to join their HR team. This role will manage HR functions and support payroll, including providing backup when necessary. The ideal candidate will have experience in HR compliance, benefits administration, employee relations, investigations, and payroll management, with a focus on detail and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
HR Compliance & Administration:
Handle employee paperwork, investigations, and leave processes.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Maintain accurate employee records.
Benefits Administration:
Administer health insurance and other benefits programs.
Assist employees with enrollment and inquiries.
Leave & Accommodation Processing:
Oversee employee leave and accommodation requests, ensuring compliance.
Maintain accurate leave records.
Employee Relations & Investigations:
Conduct investigations into workplace incidents or employee concerns.
Provide documentation and impartial recommendations.
Coaching and Consultation:
Offer guidance to management on HR-related issues and best practices.
Assist with HR policies and procedures.
Policy and Compliance Development:
Contribute to creating and enforcing company policies.
Ensure consistent policy application across the organization.
Payroll Management (Full Cycle Backup):
Support full-cycle payroll processing for salaried, hourly, and commission employees.
Serve as backup for payroll, ensuring accurate, timely payments.
Ensure payroll compliance and manage commission payments.
Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000 DOE

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of work experience in HR, with a focus on payroll, compliance, and/or benefits administration.
Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR regulations.
Proficiency with payroll systems, HRIS, and benefits platforms.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Collaborative, professional approach.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with multi-state payroll.
Experience with medical insurance and ancillary benefits administration.
HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
