*Pay: *$22.12 - 29.00 per hour, depending on experience

Job Summary

Select and process accurate documentation for a wide variety of international and domestic shipments, which include, but are not limited to: USMCA, Canadian Customs invoices, truck bills, airway bills, packing lists, commercial invoices, shippers Letter of Instruction, shipping export declarations, and Letters of Credit.

 

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Dispatch carriers by phone, Internet or email
  • Provide both internal and external freight quotations
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with freight forwarders
  • Coordinate with customers, customer service, freight forwarders, banks, and trucking companies to ensure compliance to contractual obligations
  • Ensure documents are banked
  • Track and monitor shipments
  • Route paperwork for daily shipments
  • Negotiate freight rates with carriers•Maintain accurate inventory records for lumber usage
  • Identify and initiate product/process improvements
  • Document work processes
  • Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly
  • Abide by company policies•In order to achieve business objectives, work weeks in excess of 40 hours may be required
  • Serve as back-up to Shipping Team Members, forklift, crating and packaging
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two (2) years in shipping and/or product transportation
  • Experience working with Letters of Credit preferred
  • Possess current knowledge of international trade regulations, INCO terms and HS code systems
  • Experience coordinating shipments with freight forwarders
  • Excellent oral communication and telephone skills
  • Understanding in Automated Export System preferred
