    Overview of the Role:

    An Assembly Floor Lead is responsible for quality, throughput, and safety of multiple processes and takes pride in their flexibility and proficiency in all aspects of assembly and display functions meeting customer standards.  The Floor Lead’s primary focus is on coordinating the assembly and the accurate merchandizing of the products being assembled. 

    This key position directs the activities of up-to 25 associates at any point in time and many of those associates are employed through temporary staffing companies.  This includes determining each associates strengths and weakness’ and assigning them to a work cell that best fits their ability to excel. The Floor Lead will assist in, and oversee when needed, the day-to-day activity on the production floor. The Floor Lead will also act in a supportive role to the Production Lead, assisting as the need arises.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Completes operational requirements as assigned by the Assembly Production Lead

  • Backup for the Assembly Production Lead when he/she is off the floor or is out of the operation

  • Works with other display associates and provides instruction, training, guidance, and follow-up on their daily work assignments

  • Works with the Assembly Material Handler(s) and offers guidance regarding ways to improve performance to standard in their assignments

  • Assists with movement via forklift of goods to and from Assembly and oversees the receipt of completed product in the handheld scanner.

  • Complies with and promotes safety guidelines and reports discrepancies. Complying with the safety policies of the company and working to achieve an Accident-Free environment

  • Promotes a clean and organized Assembly operation

  • Adheres to all company human resources, quality, operations, and safety policies including equipment certifications.

  • Ability to work independently with little supervision

  • Ensures the proper training and certifications of new and temporary employees

  • Actively involved in problem solving to improve the operation of the display and assembly area, looking for areas to improve the operations and reduce cost

  • Work Overtime when necessary and/or when Overtime is mandated

  • Desire to be promoted to an Assembly Production Lead or a DC Lead and exudes qualities of being a Lead.

  • Understands and ensures the achievement of productivity standards and reports results versus goals daily. Performance of processes at or beyond standard (100% + efficiency)

  • Packing quality product as defined by product specification and documentation

    OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Maintain and support continuous operations in accordance with work center schedules.

  • Interact with others towards accomplishment of team goals/objectives

  • Participate in cross training program and support to co-workers as needed.  Integrate temporary employees into duties as required.

  • Participate in identifying problems, suggest improvements and participate where appropriate in implementation of solutions.

  • Operate in a safe manner and always comply with safety policies and procedures

  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly way, during and at end of shift.

  • Record and maintain any data related to work activity in a concise, accurate way, and communicate appropriately.

  • Will assist in operations in any which way deemed essential to meet production requirements.

  • Ensure materials required for production move from warehouse to production floor in a timely manner to meet production schedules.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/OTHER SKILLS:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Previous experience in a production environment where standards are set and maintained

  • Self-Starter

  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment

  • Detail oriented

  • Flexible / Team-Player

  • Professional behavior and appearance

  • Aptitude for problem solving

  • Strong basic math and reading skills
