The position

By joining our team in Projects, Drilling & Procurement you will have the opportunity to:

Work as an analyst in the Supplier Market Analysis (SMA) team. We are responsible for providing value adding supply chain market analysis and strategic advice to Equinor, and we cover all supplier markets that Equinor encounters (e.g. renewables, rig, drilling & well services, subsea and marine, engineering & construction, maintenance and modification). This is the team where you will get an opportunity to work both analytically and strategically across Equinor’s Business Areas (BA), supply chain markets, and project phases. You will play a crucial role in providing rigorous research and in-depth analysis and recommendations in the supply chain markets that supportEquinor'sinvestment decision, business development strategy and negotiation strategies. The analysis comprises should-cost level, supply chain capacity, bargaining power, and scenario analysis with the aim of spotting trends, risks, and opportunities. In this role you will have to understand key global trends and how it impacts Equinor and supply chain markets. You will be tasked to communicate analysis and insights to internal stakeholders, such as commercial units, business development, corporate strategy teams, and top management, as well as developing and maintaining models and tools to support the production of market reports, forecasts, and scenario planning. Typical tasks include:

  • Provide high-quality, innovative, and forward-looking analysis and reports.

  • Deliver consistent and strategic supply chain market analysis across Equinor’s Business Areas.

  • Explore how to utilize market intelligence more efficiently and strategically across Equinor.

  • Provide and present supply chain insights and recommendations to support senior management decision making.

  • Analyze long term risks and mega trends.

  • Support sourcing strategy development and best practice.

  • Contribute to an overall approach to supplier relationship management (SRM) and "one Equinor" voice towards suppliers.

You

  • Master’s or advanced degree in economics, business and finance, industrial/social economics, engineering, data sciences, or other relevant disciplines, with minimum 3 years of relevant analytical, commercial and/or strategic experience.

  • A high degree of analytical skills and genuine interest in the energy industry are essential for success.

  • Excel proficiency, familiarity with advanced data modelling, analytics, and visualization tools.

  • Strong analytic, strategic, and communication skills.

  • Ability to identify relevant market trends and implications for Equinor.

  • Commercial mindset, with ability to contribute to strategy discussions/evaluations to help Equinor reach its strategic ambitions.

  • Solid business, project and value chain understanding, and experience is an advantage.

  • Solid English skills (spoken and written).
