ManTech Sense and Warn Systems Administrator in Sterling, Virginia

ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented S&W Systems Administrator to join our team in the Northern Virginia area.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • The Sense & Warn (S&W) Systems Administrator is responsible for but not limited to: conducting installation,configuration, troubleshooting and/or maintenance of device integration of active networks, LAN/WAN, OSI layers, routing and switching, virtualization, hardware, packet sniffing, network monitoring software, data recovery, and enforce configuration management.

  • Additionally, the System Administrator will be responsible for conducting independent research and analysis to tackle system/network challenges and provide in-depth reporting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four (4) years of relevant experience or bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field.

  • In depth understanding of:

  • The roles that RF, terrain, climate, and physical location play in network maintenance, implementation, and reliability

  • Windows Server configuration

  • Network routing

  • Virtualization

  • Hardware compatibility and limitations

  • Hardware troubleshooting

  • Network cable termination (copper/fiber)

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Windows operating systems and office automation software (e.g., Microsoft Office, SharePoint).

  • Travel to domestic and international work locations, to include high threat and austere locations, as necessary to support inspection and quality of the S&W operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Troubleshooting across all OSI layers

  • Wireshark or equivalent packet sniffing software

  • InterMapper or equivalent network monitoring software

  • RF Mesh network and PTP Backhaul

  • Experienced in using/implementing imaging software (i.e. ghost) and cyber security applications

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have a current active Secret security clearance.

  • Must be immediately eligible for and able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance and eligible for SCI access.

Physical Requirements:

  • Moves about inside an office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Frequently required to walk, bend, or squat on occasion to fix computer equipment.

  • Moves equipment weighing up to 50 pounds across and/or around shop floors.

  • Uses hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms.

  • Frequently works in warehouses and buildings that may be hot, cold, drafty, and poorly lighted.

  • Occasionally works outdoors in all types of terrain and weather conditions.

  • Communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
