WINTER KISSED FARM General Farmworker in STEVENSVILLE, Montana
Temporary full time from 5/1/2025 - 11/30/2025 Our farm is located in Montana in an area with a cold climate with a short-growing season for vegetables. There is planting, weed cultivation, and harvesting work for the majority of our crops for only a short season (May-November) before these plants get killed by frosts. So we only need farm work for this position on a seasonal basis. Job duties will include: dig, cut, and transplant seedlings, cuttings, trees, and shrubs, harvest fruits and vegetables by hand, harvest plants, and transplant or pot and label them, inform farmers or farm managers of crop progress, load agricultural products into trucks, and drive trucks to market or storage facilities, maintain and repair irrigation and climate control systems, operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops, participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops, plant, spray, weed, fertilize, water, and prune plants, shrubs, and trees, using gardening tools, regulate greenhouse conditions, and indoor and outdoor irrigation systems, repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures, set up and operate irrigation equipment, build agricultural structures, evaluate quality of plants or crops, examine characteristics or behavior of living organisms, operate farming equipment, operate irrigation systems, package agricultural products for shipment or further processing, perform manual agricultural, aquacultural, or horticultural tasks, plant crops, trees, or other plants, handle irrigation and hand hoeing field crops. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer?s discretion. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer?s discretion. Job requires exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures, extensive pushing or pulling, frequent stooping or bending over, repetitive movements. Must be able to lift 100 lbs. When irrigating, the worker must after a 10-day conditioning period, move an average of at least 48 to 40 foot sections of 3 inch pipe per hour under normal working conditions. Must have a regular driver's license. Requires 3 months farm experience.
