Description
Robert Half is partnering with a Government Entity, and sourcing for a Paralegal.
Responsibilities:
• Work on major projects primarily focused on appellate work and expungement.
• Collaborate with the appellate attorney on various tasks.
• Responsible for refining briefs, adding table of contents, and proofreading.
• Ensure all citations in briefs are accurate and complete before filing.
• Manage the online site for filing expungement applications.
• Review and verify the accuracy of criminal histories and other information.
• Prepare and send notices, letters, and files to the court upon the attorney's determination.
Requirements • Possession of a degree in Law, Paralegal Studies, or a related field
• Proven experience in a paralegal role within a government setting
• Extensive knowledge of legal principles, legal research methods, and legal terminology
• Proficient in drafting and analyzing legal documents such as briefs and appeals
• Proven ability to handle complaints and manage dispute resolution processes
• Demonstrable experience working with courts, particularly appellate courts
• Familiarity with government regulations and procedures
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Proficient in the use of legal research software and other related computer applications.
