Responsible for all routine phlebotomy duties. Responsible for the performance of routine laboratory procedures. Accountable for accurate results and reporting abnormal results to senior lab staff. Use and maintain a variety of instruments. Produce accurate results in all laboratory testing. Completes work in a timely manner and reports results according to pre-set standards. Demonstrates competency in phlebotomy. Maintains patient confidentiality.
Position presents exposure to an environment related to medical problems; vomitus, bleeding, etc. This includes the inherent possibility of exposure to contagious diseases. Danger with equipment not properly operated, hazardous waste, etc.
Requires the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and the ability to assist in lifting patients during radiographic procedures.
