COUNTY OF DOOR Behavioral Health Therapist - Certified in STURGEON BAY, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: The DTE Behavioral Health Therapist provides professional and compassionate direct therapy services to county residents impacted by mental illness and/or substance use disorders. Under the supervision of the Behavioral Health Program Manager, this role focuses on delivering effective therapeutic interventions tailored to meet the needs of individuals. The therapist is responsible for maintaining a high standard of communication, both written and verbal, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and truthfulness in all interactions. Essential Job Functions Provides direct service therapy to clients with mental health and/or substance use disorders and their families. The primary case load for this position will be individuals with a substance use disorder. The work could include individual, couples, and family therapy, primary treatment, intensive outpatient, and continued care groups, as necessary for the population of clients at any given time. Provides intakes, assessments, and diagnoses, to Door County resident. Completes treatment plans with clients to address their needs and works with a multidisciplinary team to provide the needed level of care. Develops and maintains accurate records of assessment, treatment and current status/condition as required by state statute and agency standards. Complies with Department of Health Services (DHS) Chapter 35 and 75 requirements. Assists in developing and providing ancillary groups or special services to other community programs relative to special needs populations, i.e., youth, elderly, women, minorities and others as deemed necessary. Provides recovery services to individuals enrolled in Comprehensive Community Services (CCS), consistent with DHS Chapter 36 requirements, which may include services in the office, home or community. Participates in CCS team meetings as needed. Provides service planning and oversight of clients on mental health commitments. Conducts necessary team/staff meetings to review services and crisis planning. General Job Functions Coordinates inpatient psychiatric treatment and discharge planning with other staff members and community and state agencies as needed. Presents training in the area of psychotherapy, addictions and patient treatment to community, medical professionals, and staff members as needed. Serves as a member of a multidisciplinary agency clinical team. Participates in client staffing, offers cross-disciplinary training to staff and cooperates as a team member in the delivery of treatment to consumers with co-occurring disorders. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Required Training and Experience Graduate of a certified college with a master\'s degree in, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related area. Wisconsin Clinical Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or similar licensure. Dually certified to service individuals with co-occurring disorders and substance abuse counseling experience strongly preferred. Valid driver\'s license. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required Knowledge of and experience in working with clients with Mental Health (MH) and Alcohol and Drug Addiction (AODA) diagnoses. Knowledge of and experience with prevention, intervention, assessment and treatment modalities. Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate, both verbally and in writing as well as effectively administer by written and oral communications. Able to effectively conduct interviews and counseling with AODA and MH clients. Capable of conducting successful crisis intervention assessment and disposition. Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with county employees, supervisors, officials, and the general public, fostering positive and effective working relationships. Possess emotional maturity, sound judgment and capable of working among a dynamic team of professionals. Knowledge of basic computer operation and familiarity with word processing and data entry software.
