Dal-Tile is currently seeking an exceptional Ink Jet Technician to join our TEAM! As the Ink Jet Technician, we need someone who is ready to provide a variety of support such as understand and maintain ink pressure systems, safety protocols, maintain proper shutdown, startup and disassemble and properly reassemble complex and precise mechanical.

Primary Objective

Ink Jet Technician is a resource for trouble shooting ink printers, driving preventative and proactive maintenance, working with international vendors and interacting with other expert Ink Jet Specialists to adjust images and print quality of the digital printers.

Major Function and Scope

Helps to maintain a safe, healthy and organized working environment for all areas.

Ensures all safety protocols are adhered too.

Follows the Quality Management System for operations.

Maintain proper shutdown, startup, and operational procedures

Understand and maintain ink pressure systems (meniscus, purge, printer)

Troubleshoot and maintain complex pneumatic systems

Mechanical dexterity and advance proficiency with tools

Disassemble and properly reassemble complex and precise mechanical assemblies (relating to printer quality)

Strong proficiency with PC operating systems – Windows, MAC, and other based systems

Troubleshoot and maintain complex electrical, electronics, communication, analyzing error message, and error simulation

Understand all aspects of the printer workflow – color balance, droplet size, load and print images, modify images

Troubleshoot, change, and align print heads

Identify and correct common digital printer quality defects

Develop, deploy and maintain a preventive maintenance program for the ink jet system

Position requires 24/7 support. Candidate will be required to assist during 24/7 schedule period.

Maintain service records of equipment

Drive continuous improvement by developing engineering solutions that optimize all phases of the production process

Analyze production and material failures to ensure corrective and preventive actions are developed that improves safety, quality and production reflecting best practices

Performs other related duties as required

Experience and Knowledge Required

College or Technical degree in Engineering, Electronics or related field highly preferred. High school diploma and five plus years of maintenance experience may substitute for a degree. Knowledge of electrical, PLC, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and/or electronic equipment and systems preferred.

3 or more years or more working with industrial automation (PLC’s, Communication Systems, and various sensors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems) and/or College degree in related field.

Competencies

Core competencies include good communication and problem solving skills, mathematical aptitude, data analysis and interpretation, and ability to prioritize. Computer skills in word processing and spreadsheets. Strong/Proven interpersonal skills a must. Effective and persuasive communications skills both written and verbal required.

The associate may be required to sometimes sit, climb or balance. The associate may lift and/or move 50 to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate may be exposed to the risk of electrical shock or vibration. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures. The noise level is usually loud.
