We’re looking for a motivated Warehouse Manager / Industrial Engineer at our Suwanee, GA distribution center! This role is responsible for the management and safety of the assigned departments, including supervisors directly reporting to this position. This role reviews processes and develops production standards to ensure the timely movement of materials through the warehouse by improving productivity and throughput, space utilization, product slotting/profiling strategies, material flow, etc. This individual leads, executes, and coaches the operations team on continuous improvement initiatives, acting as a steward of the Lean Journey.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the effective and accurate storage and movement of materials through the warehouse, ensuring orders are received and dispatched on time to the appropriate destinations and in the expected quantities.

  • Establishes operational procedures and work instructions for the warehouse. Reviews production schedules, engineering specifications, process flows, and other measures to set appropriate production standards and monitor performance.

  • Develops engineered labor standards, methods for direct labor tasks, and productivity-monitoring systems.

  • Develops and executes plans to support additional product lines or increased work volume, addressing equipment, personnel, and systems requirements.

  • Monitors and maintains the performance management process, initiating personnel actions and disciplinary actions as appropriate, per company policies and procedures.

  • Ensures compliance with all regulations and requirements, including OSHA and ISO. Ensures the timely and documented training of team members, reviewing training matrices on a quarterly basis with each supervisor.

  • Reviews leader standard work and training matrices periodically, on a scheduled basis.

  • Actively leads and participates in Lean continuous improvement program, executing transformation projects, driving the adoption, and other performance improvement methodologies.

  • Spearheads plant-wide Lean initiatives to identify and eliminate process waste and ensure adherence to all standard work instructions.

  • Forecasts labor and resources needed to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), analyzing order trends and productivity reports to determine staffing requirements.

  • Establishes work schedules, ensuring the schedules are correctly implemented, jobs are assigned effectively, and tasks are completed properly. Oversees the time-off program according to defined procedures.

  • Partners with other department leaders to ensure coordination of warehouse activities among all departments.

  • Inspects the physical condition of warehouse and the maintenance of equipment, preparing work orders for repairs and requisitions for the replacement of assigned assets. Responsible for 5s in all assigned departments.

  • Responsible for vendor relationships, conducting formal trimester vendor reviews.

  • Develops and adheres to the annual operating budget, ensuring budgetary goals are being met through quarterly reviews, and cost controls are implemented. Conducts periodic vendor RFPs as assigned.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Travel up to 15%.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS), preferably in industrial engineering, with at least 7 years of experience in warehouse and materials distribution, including industrial supply and e-commerce order fulfillment, and a minimum of 5 years of operational team management, with knowledge of warehouse functions and budgeting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must have experience mapping distribution center flows in conjunction with establishing engineered labor standards. Professional certifications are preferred, including Accenture/Maynard MOST Labor Standards and Methods.

  • Thorough understanding of all distribution operations with a demonstrated understanding of warehouse management, inventory management, product flow and productivity standards.

  • Knowledge of labeling and kitting assembly is a plus.

  • Forklift certification a plus.

  • Experience working in an SAP WM system environment or similar WM system.

  • Knowledge of RF scanning in a distribution pick/pack/ship environment.

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical diagram form, dealing with abstract and concrete variables.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including the ability to utilize Microsoft Access (or other similar analysis tool) to develop assembly labor plans and slotting strategies, as well as perform operational data analysis.

  • Experienced with LEAN/Six Sigma, certified green belt level is preferred.

  • Proficiency in Auto-Cad is preferred.

  • Strong leadership skills with experience leading supervisory-level employees and the ability to lead by example.

  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner, to listen attentively to others, to understand materials, and to provide instructions to all team members.

  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
