Job Title:Maintenance Mechanic-Sweetwater
Hourly Salary: $29.05
Role and Responsibilities:
- Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities necessary to keep industrial equipment operating efficiently.
- Installs, troubleshoot, maintain, PM, repairs, and/or overhauls all plant equipment, facilities, and utilities.
- Solves problems and make decisions relative to these functions while working with little or no direct supervision.
- Follows all plant guidelines, required safety regulations, OSHA safety standards and plant policies in performing those functions.
- Assists all plant supervision and other personnel to promote optimum manufacturing efficiency.
- Weld using the following methods: Stick and MiG welding Work from blueprints and schematics and perform basic shop math.
- Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for leading multiple projects, and required to assist in design, install, and develop BOM's on various new and existing automation projects.
- Installs and/or repairs electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic equipment, machines, or systems.
- All work must be adjusted, assembled, or aligned to equipment manufacturer or USG specifications.
- Provides technical assistance in troubleshooting complexmaintenanceproblems.
- Assists in developing and implementing ergonomic and process improvements in manufacturing to improve reliability and productivity.
- Tasks may include but are not limited to motors, pneumatic tools, hydraulic systems, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, engineering specifications; and troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Become familiar with plant work order system.
- Able to navigate plants inventory software to locate and retrieve spare parts.
- Able to utilize work order tracking software to investigate equipment history.
- Able to provide detailed feedback and comments regarding work order completion.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools, cranes/hoist, rigging equipment, welders, fall restraint, etc.
- Work as part of a team, communicating and cooperating to achieve the required results.
- Troubleshoot equipment alongside other plant mechanics, electricians, and PLC Techs.
- Expected to take an active role in all plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives as required by supervision.
- Be able to respond to emergency calls during off-shift hours within 30 minutes.
- Adaptable to scheduling requirements including shift work, assignment of overtime, working weekends, etc. where applicable.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Ability to work independently to complete assigned tasks.
- Strong mechanical, analytical, and solution driven skills
- Ability to troubleshoot minor issues with the equipment.
- Uses Maintenance system (EAM) to track Work Orders and locate parts.
- Team player, good communication skills needed with all co-workers.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Ability to perform assigned repair and servicing tasks.
- Willingness to work the assigned schedule.
- Guides, instructs, and trains equipment operators in the operation, adjustment, and PM inspection of equipment used in producing ware.
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints.
- Critical Thinking: once a problem is identified, the Maintenance Mechanic should be able to deal with it critically.
- Consistently demonstrate an understanding of all plant and departmental safety rules, standards, and programs.
- Participates in problem-solving functions with plant operational, Electrical, PLC Technical Teams.
- Meet the essential physical requirements of the position: Climb steps and ladders, walk long distances and lift a minimum of 50lbs.
- Have ability to understand verbal and written instructions from plant supervision and efficiently and effectively pe form assigned tasks.
- Responsible for maintaining a set of personal tools as specified in the operator rate program.
- Require working knowledge of Excel, Word and various other software.
- Must be able to work in extreme heat associated with dryers and kilns.
- Must be able to communicate with and coordinate with area supervision and be willing to work in all areas of plant operations as needed.

- Frequent contact with all levels of production andmaintenanceto discuss systems and equipment malfunctions, scheduling of repairs and changes.
- Practical experience in industrial maintenance, diesel mechanic and welding. Read, understand, and apply information frommaintenancemanual; blueprints; hydraulics and pneumatics schematics.
Department:Maintenance
- Schedule: 8 hour work schedule and overtime and call-outs as needed.
- Saturdays and Sundays are paid at overtime rates!
