SUNY Upstate Medical University Administrative Assistant I in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical department by coordinating a variety of schedules and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule Coordination: Manage and streamline the schedules of surgeons, including clinic appointments, surgeries, administrative commitments, and academic engagements.

  • Pre-Surgical Preparation: Assist in organizing all necessary pre-surgical appointments, securing test results, and obtaining medical clearances.

  • Insurance Authorizations: Obtain and manage insurance authorizations to ensure a seamless process for patients.

  • Administrative Support: Handle a range of administrative duties, including communication with staff, patients, medical professionals, government agencies, insurance providers, and the public.

  • Communication: Exhibit excellent communication skills to facilitate effective interactions across all parties involved.

  • Medical Receptionist Duties: Perform essential medical receptionist tasks such as answering phone calls, managing correspondence, and completing required forms.

    Minimum Qualifications:

Three years of secretarial/administrative experience or Associate's degree and one year of experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent organizational skills, computer skills, and strong customer service skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associates degree in health care related filed.

Monday-Friday Days
