Honeywell Sr Strategic Sourcing Specialist - Mechanical, Machining in Tempe, Arizona

As a Sr Strategic Sourcing Specialist here at Honeywell, you will play a key role in driving the end-to-end cycle of FAR15 proposals and subcontracts. You will be responsible for completing fair and reasonable price analyses, executing program-aligned subcontracts, and collaborating with key functions within and outside of ISC to support FAR15 proposals and subcontracts. This role requires a detailed understanding of DoD procurement life cycle, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

You will report directly to our Sr Director, Strategic Sourcing for the Machining Category with an annual spend of $0.8 to 1.0B Annually and you’ll work out of our Tempe location on a #hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the company by ensuring the delivery of compliant FAR15 packages to the US government, executing strategic long-term agreements with suppliers, and driving cost savings through effective negotiation and supplier management.

Establish and drive procurement of material and services in alignment with business Leadership for your assigned commodity / category and/or region as per Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Plan. You will have site responsibility for driving competitive commodity and category supply strategies to achieve lowest Total Cost for your site, reduced Working capital via Negotiation planning and execution, High Growth Region Sourcing, Value Engineering and Sole/ Single Source elimination. You will manage Supplier Performance to support your commodity/category and/or region and ensure supply continuity. You will be managing several projects in dynamic environment. You will ensure compliance with company business policies and procedures, Export /Import regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a machining sourcing strategy for your commodity group, to realize a challenging Annual Operating Plan.

  • Negotiate commercial supplier contracts to increase productivity savings year over year, minimize cost and ensure continuity of supply such that we meet our deliverables to our customers.

  • Build, maintain, and own relationships with owner and executive level of our highly competitive and consolidated supply base partners.

  • Conduct market research and supplier evaluations to identify strategic suppliers and onboard them

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier performance and supply chain efficiency

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sourcing strategies with business objectives

  • Monitor supplier performance and manage supplier relationships to mitigate risks and ensure compliance

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's Degree BS or BA, in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Contract Administration, or Engineering Discipline or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years experience in Subcontracts, Procurement and/or Supplier Management

WE VALUE

  • Graduate Degrees in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Contract Administration, or Engineering Discipline

  • Experience leading and closing formal negotiations (price, schedule, payment terms, supplier exceptions to contractual flow down requirements, and standard Terms and Conditions).

  • Experience developing, communicating, and executing an end-to-end global supply chain sourcing strategy for a large complex supplier or a machining category, by assessing global market conditions, current state and desired future state, business objectives, supplier capabilities, and emerging technologies, and then develop strategic priorities to close any gaps.

  • Experience managing supplier performance throughout the subcontracting lifecycle from new product development to production, and closeout phases

  • Ability to advise and represent the organization on legal issues, terms and conditions, and business risks concerning contract matters. Expert ability to review terms and conditions in proposal responses and identify significant or unusual risks, including those in the financial, technical or schedule areas

  • Ability to identify strategies and execute projects to reduce cost resulting in margin expansion

  • Procurement and technical experience with machining and associated special processing used in the aerospace industry

Strong business acumen with ability to understand and align to key business drivers, exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills

  • Demonstrated ability to create effective relationships, influence prioritization, and collaborate at all organizational levels with our internal business partners, stakeholders, and with our suppliers

  • Expertise in Systems Applications and Products in Data Processing (SAP) Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system

  • Experience with subcontract compliance with Public Laws, Policies, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFAR), and ITAR and import/export requirements

  • Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Ability to implement a comprehensive methodology to rank, qualify, and promote preferred suppliers

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up-like atmosphere.

  • Ability to consistently make timely decisions while balancing conflicting goals in an ambiguous environment
