    Laundry Supervisor Details

    Essential Job Duties:

  • Performs and understands all laundry duties, minor equipment maintenance, and daily inspections; maintains cleanliness and manages rewash percentages.

  • Reports equipment malfunctions, records daily statistics, and handles patient/staff complaints; checks employee time sheets and understands wash formulas.

  • Follows hospital policies, infection control procedures, and orients new employees; demonstrates telephone courtesy and procedures.

  • Trains new employees, conducts annual retraining sessions, and completes training reports.

  • Serves as a role model, evaluates employees, handles disciplinary procedures, and maintains a positive attitude; promptly addresses employee issues.

  • Understands all laundry operations, equipment, and related department functions; assumes responsibility in manager’s absence and utilizes all department forms.

    Qualifications:

  • Good communication skills in English, basic business math, and computer skills.

  • Preferred: extensive laundry training or two years of laundry work experience.

  • Required: supervisory experience, and basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Must be very flexible in schedule to meet changing needs of the department.
