Engineering and Commissioning requirements:

• To understand in detail all the electrical systems and equipment onboard as well as in Shipyards

• To possess in-depth knowhow of various classification societies such as IRS, ABS, LRS, DNV, etc and their technical standards for the construction and operation of ships and offshore facilities.

• To study and understand the customer enquiry and check the technical feasibility of solution for bid-no bid decision.

• To prepare complete scope of supply & work and provide technical support to proposal team for Marine solutions.

• To estimate manday requirement for engineering & commissioning activities depending on project complexity.

• To participate in technical discussions with customer for scope of supply during order finalization.

• To select the appropriate components and prepare detailed BOQ / bill of material.

• To support procurement manger in preparing enquiries to vendors and in technical evaluation of vendor’ offers.

• To support and coordinate with project management team, customers and vendors during project execution.

• To support the panel vendors in resolving queries during manufacturing stage and carry out inspections.

• To handle logistics and material management for project sites.

• To make standardization of E&C processes / activities and develop new cost-effective solutions.

• To prepare installation & commissioning schedule and estimate required mandays.

• To supervise installation of various electrical equipment on surface ships, submarines as well as in Shipyards.

• To manage long-term site involving activities such as coordination with customer, vendors, site teams, etc

• To carry out STW of various electrical equipment on surface ships as well as submarines.

• To conduct Harbor Acceptance Test (HAT) or Sea Acceptance Test (SAT).

• To undergo technical trainings and learn new products/systems and to impart the on-site training to customer.

• To prepare the documentation for operation and maintenance.

• To prepare MOM and handover the project to customer.

• To perform fault diagnosis, analyze test results and plan preventive maintenance of electrical equipment’s relevant to instrumentation, alternators and main propulsion system of ships/ submarines.

• To carry out repairs and maintenance of motors, major electrical equipment.

• To support customers with on-site services or remotely during breakdown.

• To participate in review meetings with Management.

• To ensure continual improvements for achieving excellence and customer satisfaction.

• To create new business opportunities (pull-through business) while executing projects.

• To maintain the documentation as per the ISO guidelines and Quality requirements.

• To adhere to the highest safety standards and exhibit process-oriented approach in line with the quality guidelines.

Technical knowhow:

• In depth Knowledge of electric propulsion, switchboards, power management system, alarm monitoring system, shaft-generators, alternators, VFD & soft-starters, motors including the selection of components.

• Knowhow of Siemens make VFDs & PLC based automation system with engineering and commissioning concepts.

• Basic knowhow of switchgears & switchboards and related electrical standards.

Candidate should have the following:

• To hold a bachelor’s degree in Electricals or Electrical & Electronics or Instrumentation Engineering.

• To have minimum 12 to 15 years of work experience in engineering and commissioning of Marine projects.

• Experience in handling complex projects involving multi-cultural, multi-national / regional, diverse groups.

• To possess strong analytical / problem solving technical skills.

• To possess good written & spoken communication skills for coordinating with all stakeholders.

• To consider travelling as an integral part of the job and ready to travel frequently for short to medium duration (and also long stretches occasionally) to sites for STW, HAT, SAT and other services.
