Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey Camp Engagement Manager in THE OVAL, Maplewood, New Jersey

Here's What You Will Be Doing...In collaboration with the Camp Team and Marketing and Communications Department, develops and leads efforts to recruit campers beyond the Girl Scout movement.Collaborates with Marketing and Communications Department to create compelling promotional materials, advertisements, and campaigns to increase camp enrollment.Organizes recruitment events, open houses, and information sessions to showcase the camp's unique offerings and attract potential campers and staff.In collaboration with the Camp Team and Membership Department, maintains communication with campers, families, and user groups, while promoting camp opportunities.Cultivates strong relationships with local communities and organizations to enhance the camp's visibility and reputation.Collaborates with community leaders, schools, and other stakeholders to establish partnerships that support camper recruitment and property rental initiatives.Identifies and pursues opportunities to maximize revenue through the rental of camp facilities and properties.Develops and maintains relationships with potential renters, including organizations, schools, and event planners, to promote property rentals.Implements pricing strategies, negotiate contracts, and ensure the efficient use of camp facilities to optimize revenue generation.In collaboration with the Camp Team and Human Resources Department, leads efforts to develop and execute comprehensive recruitment strategies to attract and retain a diverse and qualified pool of summer camp staff.Utilizes data analytics tools to track and analyzes camper enrollment trends, staff recruitment success, and property rental performance.Generates regular reports to evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and revenue-generating initiatives.Remains current on GSUSA and the American Camp Association’s (ACA) initiatives, as well as national and local trends affecting camps.Ensures Girl Scouting is open to all youth and adults by delivering the Girl Scout message of pluralism and diversity, equity, inclusion, and access.Researches, recruits, and maintains relationships with individuals, businesses, community partners, GSUSA, and other stakeholders who can assist with the evolution and/or execution of organizational goals and objectives.Optimizes the use of technology to support customer service and accurate record keeping.Performs other duties as necessary or assigned. Is this you?B.A. or relevant experience.3-5 years of experience, preferable in a camp setting.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-browsing software. Ability to quickly learn new software applications as necessary.Ability to think strategically with superior organizational skills that maximize operating efficiency and workload capacity.Manages multiple projects while handling conflicting priorities and deadlines; flexibility to re-prioritize as workload shifts in accordance with day-to-day tasks.Attention to detail when planning, implementing, and reporting on projects.Anticipates issues, obstacles, or opportunities that may impact plans; establishes courses of action for accomplishing goals while addressing unanticipated issues or obstacles.Makes decisions in a timely manner; recognizes when decisions should be escalated; recognizes when immediate action is required and takes appropriate action.Communicates effectively with a diverse group of Girl Scouts ages 5-17, adult volunteers, coworkers, and corporate and community partners.Demonstrates effective facilitation and presentation skills.Excellent negotiator and relationship builder.Is proactive with a continuous improvement mindset; highly responsive and reliable. Preferred Education and ExperienceProven experience in recruiting and retaining campers, their families, rental groups. Knowledge and experience in the camping industry.Proven experience in business development or sales. 5 years of relevant sales experience.Familiarity with Salesforce software and applications. Additional Eligibility QualificationsFlexibility to shift work hours as needed, including evenings and weekends.Ability to lift and manipulate up to 30 pounds of Girl Scouting products, supplies, or materials.Ability to climb a ladder.Must pass GSHNJ background clearances.A valid driver's license, current insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle are required for travel between council properties and across entire service area as needed.Become a registered member of Girl Scouts and maintain membership for duration of employment.
