Robert Half Accounts Receivable Analyst in Torrance, California

Description We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Analyst to join our team in the Restaurants & Catering industry based in Torrance, California. This role involves managing collections, setting objectives in line with industry standards, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately track and manage collections to improve company profitability.

• Work closely with the Accounts Receivable Supervisor to set objectives for collections that align with industry standards.

• Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.

• Perform daily financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivable data.

• Prepare bills, invoices, and bank deposits.

• Post transactions to accounting records such as worksheet, ledger, or computer files/database.

• Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.

• Verify discrepancies and resolve clients' billing issues.

• Update accounting records with new payments, balances, franchisee or client information, etc.

• Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting franchisees or clients.

• Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status and review with Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Supervisor and/or CFO.

• Assist in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to collections.

• Improve collection systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.

• Provide excellent service to internal customers to ensure accounting activities are completed in a timely manner.

• Work with business development, franchise sales, operations, or other team members in accounting to actively search for opportunities to collect franchisee and/or client payments that are due.

• Follow up to ensure tasks are completed to due dates for invoicing, such as payment milestones with information submitted or documentation provided so that invoices may be collected efficiently.

• Practice proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.

• Communicate with the accounting team to ensure compliance and accuracy.

• Establish system controls for new financial systems and develop procedures to improve existing systems.

• Establish and maintain timely and accurate fiscal files and records to document transactions. Requirements • Must possess significant experience in the Restaurants & Catering industry.

• Demonstrated proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) is required.

• Should have solid analytical skills for interpreting financial data and invoices.

• Must possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Should be able to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

• Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work is required.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information is necessary.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field would be advantageous.

• Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards is a plus.
