Job description

Summary of Position:

The person handling this position is responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services. This includes processing, monitoring, correcting, completing, review, inputting, editing and imaging of documents for clients invoices and payments. Provides customer service to clients and finalizing billing. Generate reports from computer in accordance with established procedures.

Description of Main Duties:

  • Minimum of 3 months experience in a Billing role for an Intermodal/Drayage Carrier
  • Prepare and submit customers invoices.
  • Evaluate, confirm and correct information in system pertaining to Job Numbers, containers, proof of delivery and notes.
  • Confirm customers charges.
  • Email clients billing reports on a weekly basis or as requested
  • Resolve and research deductions
  • Communicate with Dispatchers and AP regarding additional charges, backups, etc
  • Effectively communicate both orally and in writing to internal and external parties
  • Scan, Review, and verify of Manifest, Interchanges, Hand tickets, Bill of Lading and attached documents.
  • Effectively communicate both orally and in writing to internal and external parties
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a largely sedentary role; however, filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. This position may require walking primarily on a level surface for periods of time as well as reaching above shoulder heights or below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques are required. This position may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds for files and computer printouts.
