ITW Systems Administrator in Troy, Ohio
Job Description:
The Systems Administrator will be primarily responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining and improving the availability, scalability and performance of the Information Technology systems. This role will be part of a team supporting server infrastructure and critical applications running on Hyper-V and Windows systems; on-premises as well as cloud hosted. This position will also be required to routinely analyze production systems to identify performance bottlenecks and optimization opportunities, as well as assisting with the escalated support of users while working closely with other IT staff and company employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership/ Operations (20%)
Establishes and executes processes to identify, track, escalate, resolve, and report IT incidents and problems related to applicable infrastructure.
Assists with developing and implementing strategy around cloud and hosted infrastructure, configuration management, and OS/Software lifecycle management.
Technical (80%)
Provides Tier 2 and 3 support within Office 365 technologies including SharePoint, Teams, Azure, configuration management, security, and admin functions such as licensing and user security.
Aids in providing technical guidance for end user devices and configuration management.
Responsible for the day-to-day support of on-premises and cloud systems including upgrades, system setup, system administration, monitoring, incident resolution, problem management, configuration, security management and monitoring, capacity planning, availability management, disaster recovery and routine updates.
Acts as a liaison with vendors regarding problems, fixes, and required enhancements
Participates in the design of infrastructure solutions working alongside (e.g., Web, Database, Storage, Networking, etc.) to ensure that initial and anticipated future business requirements are represented
Assists with the timely evaluation, qualification, and implementation of new software products, tools, and related appliances as it pertains to the impacted systems or processes
Maintain backup equipment, schedules, validation and applicable storage needs
Patch management to include software, operating system and firmware
This position requires analytical and problem-solving aptitude along with a wide range of technical development, design and multitasking skills.
Prepares and maintains detailed technical documentation, standards and policies and assists in the training of other resources as required. Provide technical guidance for any change management activities.
