Job Purpose
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer will have responsibility for maintaining and improving the core processes within the Quality Management System.
Transitions Optical Ltd is accredited to ISO9001:2015 and ISO13485:2016.
The fast-changing Transitions environment means systems and processes must continually evolve and keep pace with increasing complexity. With this in mind, Transitions is seeking someone with a strong process and system mind-set.
Responsibilities will include ensuring implementation and compliance to all relevant quality system regulations and standards, as well as providing back up support for the New Product Introduction Process.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management System:
Drive and support ISO9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016 compliance, with responsibility to maintain and improve key quality systems and processes.
Manage the Corrective & Preventative Action system, which captures all customer complaints, queries and internal corrective actions. Take responsibility for recording, reporting and driving root cause investigation/ analysis and implementation of corrective and preventative actions identified
Take responsibility for the non-conformance process, monitor and report on progress of continuous improvement projects arising from same, to ensure ongoing compliance.
Manage the Internal audit programme, and provide support for external audits.
Take responsibility for document control, ensuring issuance for approval, storage and archiving of locally generated documents, and ensuring changes to Global Documents are controlled and communicated at site level
Act as site co-ordinator for the Global Management of Change process, which provides a system to identify, review and approve changes to processes thereby identifying, reducing and mitigating risks to the customer, the environment and the business.
Participate and drive cross functional continuous improvement projects.
Support Risk Management activities, representing the quality function as required.
New Product Introduction Process
Complete full training on all aspects of NPI Process with viewpoint to act as identified back up support to NPI Engineer:
Complete new product set-ups
Develop and release Product Visuals
Design and release Labels for FG Packaging
Key Requirements
Third Level qualification in Quality, or equivalent.
At least 3 years' relevant quality experience.
Excellent working knowledge of ISO 13485 Quality Management System.
Certified Lead Auditor preferred.
Strong Project Management skills and experience with leading and participating in projects.
The ability to prioritise tasks and be able to manage several projects and tasks simultaneously; and the ability to interface with all levels of management.
IT Proficient - MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
