JOB SUMMARY

This position provides supervision and oversight for company execution of projects and risk mitigation activities for the Pipeline Integrity Engineering and Right of Way programs supporting the Refined Products and Crude Oil business segment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support of day-to-day activities of Pipeline Integrity Engineering and Right of Way teams. Responsibilities of group include: performing risk reduction activities, projects, and maintenance along the pipeline system. The group interfaces with ONEOK/Magellan's Integrity Management program to execute risk reduction projects such as EFRD installations, river crossing replacements via HDD, valve relocations, etc. The group also assesses potential pipeline 3rd party encroachment projects, determines if pipeline relocation or other mitigation needs are required and executes the mitigations. Additionally, the group is responsible for managing the maintenance of all pipeline right of way within the Refined and Crude business segment. The execution of the group’s projects can be capital and/or expense projects.

  • Manage initiatives that cover Pipeline Integrity Engineering and Right of Way Maintenance and seek continuous improvement opportunities to advance the programs and initiatives.

  • Facilitate the involvement of Asset Integrity Engineers and Project Managers in projects that may impact asset integrity. Provide oversight for emergent projects that need expedited execution.

  • Determine performance expectations for group and ensure that employees are aligned with goals set. Manage the career and personal development of each assigned employee.

  • Travel with engineers/project managers during critical project execution steps and represent ONEOK/Magellan in outside interactions such as during government meetings, inspections and bid meetings or land owner conversations.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 5 years of related experience

  • None required

  • Knowledge of: pipelines or hydrocarbon processing and related facilities design, construction, operation, and maintenance

  • Knowledge of: material failure and structural analysis and industry standards and governmental regulations

  • Ability to: read and interpret governmental regulations, blueprints, contracts, manuals, specifications, surveys, charts, load studies, and other relevant reports and correspondence

  • Ability to: analyze and resolve issues and/or questions concerning engineering design and calculations with supervisor assistance as needed on more design and calculations

  • Ability to: manage and prioritize multiple assignments with competing deadlines

  • Ability to: recommend and implement new initiatives and complete projects

  • Ability to: apply math, algebraic formulas, and statistical methods

  • Ability to: interact, negotiate and communicate effectively

  • Ability to: operate office tools and equipment required

  • Ability to: communicate thoughts, ideas, information, messages, and other written information, which may contain technical material, in a logical, organized, and coherent manner

Expected Salary Range

$114,000.00 - $170,000.00
