OPEN TO TPWD LAW ENFORCEMENT EMPLOYEES ONLY. Under the direct supervision of the Regional Major, this position performs wildlife, conservation, and natural resources enforcement work, and is responsible for managing, evaluating and assisting with administrative and operational activities related to conservation and other law enforcement work in an assigned Region. Develops and conducts staff training. Oversees purchasing activities for regional personnel. Conducts investigations concerning complaints from the public and special criminal investigations. Responsibilities include direct supervision of office staff and administration of office operations, analysis of programs and activities, and providing guidance and leadership to other personnel. Conducts emergency management and homeland security operations. Assists with the preparation and management of the annual regional budget. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures. Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelors degree; Graduation from the Texas Game Warden Training Academy. Experience: Six years experience as a Texas Game Warden from the date of graduation from the Game Warden Training Academy. Licensure: Commissioned as a Texas Game Warden by The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department; Must possess a current license as a peace officer from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE); Must possess a valid class C Texas drivers license. NOTE: Retention of position contingent upon maintaining required licenses and certifications. ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTIONS Education: One additional year of the required experience as a Texas Game Warden may substitute for 30 hours of the required education, with a maximum substitution of 120 hours.
