Amentum Sheetmetal Worker in Tyndall AFB, Florida
Amentum is seeking a Sheet-Metal Worker to provide support for a position located at Tyndall AFB, FL.
Responsibilities
Utilizes/set up/ maintains shop equipment i.e. band saw, breaks, grinder, sanders, drill press, shears, tubing bender and flaring machine.
Sets up/uses hydraulic test stand to pressure check lines/components.
Maintains maintenance records and enters action in aircraft forms.
Performs inspections/evaluate for corrosion and structural damage, determines repair procedures through use of applicable technical publications.
Initiates repair of fiberglass parts, flight control surfaces, repair or remanufacture of panels and other structural and non-structural items.
Prepares and applies protective coatings, sealants and adhesive compounds. Fabricates/repairs aircraft tubing assemblies using AN, Dynatube and Permaswage fittings.
Repairs/modifies conventional and advance composites. Performs metal bond honeycomb repairs.
Sets up and performs vacuum bagging procedures. Performs hot bond repairs utilizing heat producing equipment and monitoring equipment. Removes and installs bushings.
Accurately take measurements utilizing micrometers, calipers and other precise measuring instruments.
Reads/interprets technical orders, drawing and blueprints to fabricate parts.
Researches, verifies and orders necessary repair materials.
Performs maintenance and other duties, related tasks within their classification as assigned by Supervisor.
Minimum Requirements
Must have minimum of 6 years fighter aircraft structural maintenance experience.
Depot level structural maintenance experience highly desired.
Some overtime may be required.
Secret security clearance is required. Applicants selected must be a US Citizen in order to apply for a Secret Security Clearance. Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.
Compensation:
This position is represented by a union collective bargaining agreement (CBA) with an hourly rate of pay at $40.20.
