U.S. Army Corps of Engineers FACILITIES SERVICES ASSISTANT in Umatilla, Oregon

Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Positions in the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located at McNary Project, operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers and situated on the Columbia River, near the town of Umatilla OR. This Project provides hydroelectric generation, navigation, fish passage and recreation. Responsibilities Serves as Facilities Services Assistant for a multi-purpose hydropower facility in support of a maintenance control program which includes maintenance activities for electrical and mechanical equipment and machinery. Responsible for day-to-day operation, data entry and quality control of a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Monitors items for inspection and maintenance control information developed by engineers, foremen, park rangers, maintenance mechanics, etc. Verifies and issues the notices of equipment due for inspection and/or maintenance, supplying operating history or relevant documentation available from the database on each piece of equipment for use by the units/sections in performing maintenance. Exercises initiative and judgment in analyzing system generated and extracted data in comparison with the operating history of each piece of equipment and the related maintenance procedures. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: experience gained in an office environment accessing, locating and extracting information through the use of a personal computer. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
