JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing seeks applicants for a non-tenure line teaching position in the undergraduate program at our University Park location. The Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing is one of the most comprehensive colleges of nursing in any public university in the country. With over 2,100 undergraduate students and approximately 200 graduate students, our footprint is world-wide with our faculty creating immeasurable experiences for our students around the globe.

This is a full-time, 36-week appointment funded for one year from the date of hire with excellent potential for renewal. Full benefits are included. The successful candidate will be expected to teach fall and spring semesters; anticipated start date is August 2024.

Primary responsibilities will include coordination and instruction in medical-surgical nursing courses, including both classroom and clinical teaching. In addition to teaching, responsibilities include advising students, participating in committees, and other service and scholarly activities as appropriate .

Candidates must have at least one graduate degree in nursing. Those prepared at the doctorate level (e.g., DNP, PhD) will be given preference and hired at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor or higher depending on the credentials of the successful candidate. Successful candidates who have a master’s degree in Nursing will be hired as Instructor. The successful candidate must hold a valid nursing license; be eligible for RN licensure in Pennsylvania, and show evidence of professional growth, scholarship, and mastery of subject matter.
