At VCI Construction , as a Facilities Coordinator. you will ensure the upkeep, cleanliness, and functionality of our facility. The successful candidate will perform a variety of maintenance tasks, including routine repairs, cleaning, and inspections, to provide a safe and comfortable environment for faculty, guest and staff. This role requires attention to detail, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

What you will do as a Facilities Coordinator

  • Performing daytime janitorial and light maintenance as needed.

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as fixing plumbing leaks, repairing electrical fixtures, and addressing heating/cooling issues.

  • Ground’s maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, janitorial, Breakroom / supplies, pest control, catering / lunch meetings, First aid supplies/ equipment etc.

  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify and resolve maintenance needs (e.g., broken furniture, lighting issues, or structural wear).

  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of confrenece rooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and outdoor areas, including trash removal and minor landscaping.

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from faculty or staff, troubleshooting and resolving issues efficiently.

  • Assist with setting up and breaking down furniture or equipment for events, classes, or meetings as needed.

  • Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and tools, reporting needs to the supervisor.

  • Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Perform minor painting, carpentry, or drywall repairs as required.

  • Report major repair needs or safety hazards to management for further action.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

  • Provide assistance to fleet management

    What you’ll need

  • To be 18 years of age or older

  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in maintenance or a related field is a plus.

  • Proven experience in facility maintenance, custodial work, or general repairs (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry).

  • Basic knowledge of tools and equipment used in building maintenance.

  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, or climbing ladders.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Good communication skills and a customer-service-oriented mindset.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Valid driver’s license may be required, depending on facility needs.

    Additional qualifications (if applicable)

  • Familiarity with HVAC systems, fire safety equipment, or other specialized maintenance areas.

  • Experience working in an educational or institutional setting.

  • Strong knowledge of facilities management operations

  • Familiarity with office equipment and security systems

  • Understanding of safety regulations in offices

  • Well-organized

  • Sound judgement and the ability to think quickly during emergencies

    Salary Range $25.00 - $ 32.00 hourly (D.O.E)
