The Sr. Manager, Learning and Development will lead the learning and development function for Vertafore. They will lead engagements to design, develop, and deliver training programs. They will also ensure successful execution of current training and development programs such as New Hire Orientation, Functional Bootcamps, Continuous Learning, and Manager Training.

Core Requirements and Responsibilities:

Essential job functions included but are not limited to the following:

  • As part of the senior HR leadership team, proactively identify and develop programs and solutions for improved hiring, employee relations, and leadership development.

  • In conjunction with the Chief People Officer, design the learning strategy for the organization and plan for execution/modifications as needed.

  • Lead a small team of learning and development professionals.

  • Partner with HR Business Partners to drive talent management, performance management, and succession planning initiatives.

  • Successfully develop and execute programs that utilize a variety of asynchronous and synchronous training methodologies, techniques and tools to ensure maximum effectiveness.

  • Provide business solution support, services and programs to executive leaders focused on organizational effectiveness, employee relations, organizational change, and coaching.

  • Partner with people managers across the organization to understand business challenges and recommend opportunities to close gaps.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to assess organizational gaps and determine solutions to close them

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully develop and deliver training programs utilizing skills in instructional design, program design & development and training technologies

  • Strong organizational, planning, project management, problem resolution, communication, presentation, facilitation, and influencing skills

  • Knowledge of e-learning platforms (including but not limited to LinkedIn Learning, Articulate, Workday Learning)

  • Keen communication skills with ability to communicate and collaborate with all levels within the organization

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Learning and Development, Human Resources, Adult Education or related field preferred

  • 5-8 years of professional training experience required

  • 2-3 years of experience managing a team preferred

  • Certification in personality assessments or communication tools preferred

Additional Requirements and Details:

  • Travel is generally not expected in this role.

  • Located and working from an office location.

  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.

  • Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements required to operate a computer.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (working on a computer, etc.).

  • Frequent sitting and/or standing.
