Your Opportunity

In this position as an Entry Level Junior Electrical Engineer, or Entry Level Junior Electrical Technician/Technologist (multiple positions available), you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team of engineers and technologists on multiple projects for a range of public and private sector clients. This is a great opportunity for a motivated, energetic individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Working as part of a team, this work will involve the design, drafting, construction and commissioning services for industrial electrical systems including power distribution, lighting & controls, fire alarm, and backup power systems

  • Follow production guidelines and project standards in the department drafting standards manual.

  • Providing CAD & Revit drafting and design assistance for a wide variety of projects, from report stage through design and construction administration.

  • Assisting in preparing documentation for the resolution of technical issues on construction sites.

  • You will be expected to support team operations and play an integral part in the promotion of our health and safety culture.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Experience in the Engineering consulting industry is an asset.

  • Familiarity with the Engineering design process is an asset

  • Familiarity with Electrical and Building codes is an asset

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit software packages for drafting / design of Electrical systems is an asset

  • Familiarity with Lighting Simulation software such as Dialux, AGI, or Visual is an asset

  • Familiarity with Power simulation software such as ETap is an asset

  • Demonstrable initiative on tasks and in leading / influencing members of a team are an asset

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrable ability to work under and meet tight deadlines.

  • Demonstrable ability to formulate sound opinions based on available data is an asset

  • Interest in Building Engineering systems

  • Eligibility to apply for Federal Security clearances – including reportable residential history of at least 10 years in Canada

Education and Experience

  • Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technologies, Integrated Engineering, Engineering Physics, Drafting, and/or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

  • Lower Mainland $49,600 - Lower Mainland $67,000 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in BC (Lower Mainland includes Vancouver & Burnaby)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
