Job Responsibilities
Candidates must be motivated, autonomous, have exceptional written and oral communication skills, be detail-oriented, well-organized, and proficient in AS400, SAP, Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for successfully developing and maintaining account activities for established clients, distributors, and agents through proactive sales efforts and customer service.
Reporting to the Inside Sales Manager, the Inside Sales Representative is responsible for handling all requests from established clients, processing quote requests, entering orders, managing orders, and working with functional areas across the organization to ensure customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include gathering and communicating data, market information, quotes, orders, order management, providing pricing, product availability, and basic technical information while ensuring timely delivery of products and services. Successful candidates will possess analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills, as well as a technical aptitude to understand product functionality, specifications, and application.
Specific Job Responsibilities
Support product sales to customers by entering, managing, and expediting orders to facilitate timely delivery of products to customers.
Respond daily to calls/emails/faxes from customers, distributors, agents, and external sales staff.
Communicate technical information to customers, distributors, and end-users, including technical specifications, samples, and catalogs.
Process quote requests by providing pricing and product availability, and proactively follow up on quotes to win business and gather market insights.
Develop and maintain product knowledge through product certification for up to 6 product ranges, including custom products.
Collaborate with regional sales managers and agents to communicate customer requirements and proactively increase sales.
Coordinate with the supply chain, warehouses, regional distribution centers, and carriers to provide customers with requested products as quickly as possible.
Process returns and customer complaints in a timely manner.
Resolve customer complaints professionally and efficiently.
Communicate with customers, distributors, and agents in a professional and timely manner, both verbally and in writing.
Provide backup and coverage to other team members.
Attend required training courses and achieve product certification.
Participate in cross-functional projects, both at the department level and across the company, and share relevant information with other team members.
Contribute to department initiatives and objectives.
Perform other related duties as assigned by your manager.
Key Requirements for the Position
Knowledge of AS 400 mainframe, quoting system databases, query search systems, SAP-based and Windows-based system applications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office systems and Windows XP.
Required analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Technical ability to understand product functionality, specifications, and applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Time management skills, especially the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
Knowledge of the wire and cable industry is an asset.
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Qualifications
Minimum of a high school/college diploma. A bachelor's degree is preferred.
Minimum of two years of experience in inside sales/account management/customer service.
