If providing hope and healing through compassionate, innovative, and individualized care interest you, we welcome your application for the position below.The Administrative Asst IV performs complex level administrative support in the Office of the Medical Director of North Texas State Hospital (NTSH) - Vernon. The Administrative Assistant IV provides staff service functions, working with Human Resources, Business Offices, Facility Competency, Training and Development, Information Services, and Quality Management. The individual will help to ensure that all departments who fall under the direction of the Medical Director's purview run smoothly and efficiently. The Administrative Assistant IVand#146;s work will involve dissemination of information, developing filing systems, taking minutes for confidential workgroups and meetings, credentialing, and privileging, working on complex projects of the position that require the ability to capture complex discussions in writing, etc. The Administrative Assistant IV works under direct supervision of the Medical Director with substantial latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. The individual is responsible for cross training with other staff to ensure essential functions of the office/department continue when the employee is on leave or away from the work area, particularly the Medical Staff Coordinator.Performs other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agencyand#146;s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location. Essential Job FunctionsAttends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.Maintains the schedule and coordinates all meeting preparation for the Medical Director in order that the Medical Director is fully prepared to participate in the meetings. In order to ensure a smooth and effective flow of information thereby reducing the chance for miscommunications, the Administrative Assistant IV is responsible for managing communication coming into and going from the Office of the Medical Director.
