Job Purpose:

The Lead Project Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and managing project engineering aspects of Concepts/Pre-FEED Projects for the BP Rumaila Concepts/Pre-FEED Contract in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The Rumaila Field is an onshore oil and gas field located in Southern Iraq. The Lead Project Engineer will work closely with the project team to ensure successful project delivery within budget and schedule.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support a team of engineers and designers to ensure project objectives are met.

  • Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets.

  • Coordinate with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure project requirements are met.

  • Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and issues.

  • Participate in project meetings, reviews, and presentations.

  • Reports to the Study Manager.

Functional Areas:

  • Project Management: Oversee aspects of project planning, execution, and delivery.

  • Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of engineers and designers to achieve project objectives.

  • Client Relations: Coordinate with clients to ensure project requirements are met.

  • Vendor and Subcontractor Management: Work closely with vendors and subcontractors as necessary to ensure 3rd Party Engineering Service requirements are met.

  • Compliance: Contribute to ensuring project compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards

  • Risk Management: Contribute to Identification and mitigation of project risks, to ensure successful project delivery.

  • Communication: Effectively communicate project progress, issues, and updates to stakeholders

  • Problem-solving: Utilize strong problem-solving skills to address project challenges and obstacles

  • Decision-making: Make informed decisions to keep the project on track and within budget and schedule.

Technical Skills & Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree in a related field

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in an oil and ga related industry, with past upstream Concept/Pre-FEED project experience.

  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of engineering principles and practices.

  • Proficiency in project management tools and software

  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
