IHG Earth Lab Attendant in Maldives

As Earth Lab Attendant, I will fully comprehend the vision of Six Senses to help people reconnect with themselves, others and the world around them and our values of local sensitivity and global sensibility, crafted experiences, emotional hospitality, responsible and caring, fun and quirky and pioneering wellness.

Duties and Responsibilities

As Earth Lab Attendant, I will assume full responsibility for the efficient operation in the following:

• Greet Earth Lab visitors and callers, handle their inquiries, and direct them to the appropriate persons according to their needs.

• Welcome guests and invite them to learn more about sustainability through our workshop offerings, tours, and presentations.

• Conduct Earth Lab craft workshops with guests and hosts, including but not limited to natural soap-making, coconut oil workshops, beeswax wraps, paper making, glass crafting, hydroponics tours, and candle making with training from Sustainability Team.

• Maintain harvest records of the hydroponic station, assist with cleaning and keeping records of the system operations.

• Coordinate with housekeeping team to maintain cleanliness of Earth lab space and equipment.

• Prepare and maintain records of all compost and waste material types.

• Maintain clear, concise records of all items produced within the Earth Lab such as coconut oil, soaps, essential oils, fabric crafts, and more. Maintain records of all guest interactions within Earth Lab, including tours, classes, workshops, presentations, and walk-ins daily.

• Prepare the complimentary activities and have materials set up as per standards. Coordinate with front office team to prepare bills for all chargeable workshops.

• Ensure bookings for Earth-Lab activities are on an organized schedule, and working to assure that all activities for the next day are confirmed, organized, with all materials ready.

• Innovate and assist in creating new initiatives in line with Earth-Lab activities from upcycling products around the resort.

• Liaise with other Earth-Labs in other Six Senses properties to see what they are producing.

• Assist in engagement with the local community on a regular basis will ensure the property is an active and supportive member through Sustainability Fund projects and educational/fun sustainability activities.

• Maintain a high standard of personal appearance, grooming and hygiene.

• Knowledge of all safety, security and emergency procedures related to my position in line with brand and statutory requirements.

• Ensure the privacy of guests, partners and residential owners, I will apply an extra level of protection to any sensitive personal data and use confidential information only to perform my job.

• Ensure all equipment of the department is kept clean and in good working condition.

• Attend meetings and training as required.

• Knowledge and strict adherence to LQA standards.

• Perform any additional tasks given to me by supervisor/management.

Qualifications

To execute the position of Earth Lab Attendant, I must have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar role in luxury hotels with proven results and includes the following:

• High school diploma or equivalent and experience in a similar luxury setting.

• Any certification on Environmental Management, Sustainability, or closely related field.

• I have a good understanding of the latest trends and techniques in sustainability, plus the ability to successfully implement sustainability initiatives. 

• Fluent in English;.
