How you will create an impact

You will directly support the Head of HR APAC through ensuring the successful delivery of corporate, strategic, financial and business objectives by maximizing the productivity and effectiveness of all touch points of the Human Resources function. You will be focused towards and will be supporting the Head of Talbot Singapore on all HR related matters.

The position requires high energy, initiative and attention to detail while collaborating with regional and central HR teams to ensure effective delivery and execution of HR work projects.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

Support Head of HR APAC on regional projects

  • Directly assist the Head of HR APAC in all day-to-day operations, including a variety of complex tasks and ensure the activities are aligned to business goals and priorities. Streamlining these activities and helping to ensure the highest quality of delivery.

  • Work with Head of HR APAC and Country HR Leads in creation of ideas and resolution of issues.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with departments/geographies across APAC in establishing and carrying out responsibilities.

  • Research, compile, analyze and summarize data for special projects and/or reports.

  • Anticipate, prioritize, and interpret business or operational challenges that may impede on the business objectives and recommend actions to address.

  • Plan and coordinate meetings, prepare information, monitor status of action items. Liaise with other departments on issues needing the Head of HR APAC’s feedback/recommendation and develop strong relationships across regions.

  • Responsible for preparing and briefing the Head of HR APAC prior to external meetings and/or events including drafting talking points, speeches, briefing notes or analysis.

  • Provides insight, content creation and project management support to the wider leadership team as directed by the Head of HR APAC

  • Takes a lead in organizing/setting the agenda for corporate events and strategy off-sites as directed by Head of HR APAC and in collaboration with their Executive Assistant/ Corporate Events.

  • Act as physical presence and representative of HR Head of APAC’s office and acts as a key point of contact or referral for the HR Head of APAC and their employees.

  • Ensure all information is treated in a confidential manner.

Learn about various HR Centres of expertise.

  • Work with TA & Early Careers to understand the underlying drivers and process of Talent Acquisition at APAC.

  • Work with Talent and D&I to learn and grasp fundamentals of this area.

  • Work with Comp and Ben to understand how comp is administered at AIG.

  • Work with HRSD and HRSS to understand the challenge and complexities of the service delivery and employee support and record process.

  • Work with learning teams in regions and global to ensure planning and execution of learning agendas for the region.

  • Work with People analytics to understand underlying data and governance and also how to work with the same to extract appropriate analytics for HR and business purposes.

  • Understand the fundamentals of international mobility.

  • The above would be achieved by time bound rotations in each of these departments and working with department leads while undertaking core responsibilities.

Support HR for Talbot Singapore

  • Work with GM Talbot Singapore for all HR BP support.

  • Support payroll and ops and benefit management for Talbot Singapore.

  • Act as first point of contact for HR queries for Talbot Singapore.

  • Be the engagement catalyst for Talbot Singapore.

  • Attend to ER matters for Talbot Singapore.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Strong grasp of data analytics and project management skills

  • Ability to interface with senior business clients with confidence and adeptly navigate a variety of business opportunities and challenges. The ability to come up to speed quickly and apply best practices in various settings is a key skill required.

  • Able to build strong working relationships across an International work force and establish effective collaboration with stakeholders to get key deliverables completed.

  • Ability to deal with high level of ambiguity and sense making will be a key skill.

  • Exposure to HR business partnering would be an added advantage.
