Easter Seals of Iowa Crisis Stabilization Family Peer Support Specialist in United States
Easterseals Iowa is has Polk County's first Crisis Stabilization program, providing service both at our serene Camp Sunnyside location as well as in the community . Crisis Stabilization Services ( the final service in implementing a comprehensive Children's Behavioral Health System in Polk County ) are designed to support children and families experiencing a mental health crisis in developing a stabilization plan to return as soon as possible to pre-crisis family life. Clients receive services either Residentially at Camp Sunnyside, or where they live, learn, and play in the community. Crisis Stabilization is intended to be a 5-day service for each family. We are focused on providing family-centered and evidence-based services through our team of Stabilization Clinicians (licensed mental health professionals), Stabilization Professionals ( professionals with a degree in the field), and Family Peer Support Specialists (certified family members of children living with Serious Emotional Disturbance).
We are hiring up to 2 full or part-time team members to join as Crisis Stabilization Family Peer Support Specialists. Crisis Stabilization Services are offered up to 24-hours 365 days a year. Specialists will work flexible scheduled hours likely between 10 am and 6 pm both in our residential and community settings. We are seeking a Specialist to work during the week, and a specialist to work a weekend schedule, overlapping the weekday team at least one day, (Monday or Friday). All team members will participate in a weekly rotating on-call schedule.
Job Duties: Specialists are responsible for family peer supports. Their role on the team is to support families in identifying their unique needs, problem solve with the team on how to meet those needs, and to be a relatable professional helping families normalize their experience and connect with others. Specialists are also involved in the development of family WRAP and Stabilization Plans and coordinating with paid and natural supports.

Qualifications:
Hold a current certification in Iowa as a Family Peer Support Specialist
Have a minimum of one year of experience in behavioral or mental health services
Preference will be given for those with experience in a crisis services setting.
Demonstrate an ability to work with a team closely and cooperatively, providing team members support so they may support families.
