East Alabama Mental Health Center Director of Accounting and Finance in United States
The East Alabama Mental Health Center is a nonprofit community mental health center located in the Auburn - Opelika area, serving the comprehensive mental health, substance use, and developmental disabilities needs of Lee, Russell, Chambers, and Tallapoosa counties. We are actively recruiting to fill the Director of Accounting and Finance role within our organization.
The Director of Accounting and Finance will effectively oversee and direct day to day financial operations for the Center. This position will serve as a key strategic partner alongside the CEO, COO, and Senior Clinical Directors, ensuring fiscal responsibility, regulatory compliance, and strategic alignment. The ideal candidate will be a strong complement to our team by being highly strategic, analytical, and objective. Candidates must have an exceptional ability to effectively communicate complex data and concepts to a wide range of staff.
Specific Areas of Responsibility:
Ensure accurate and timely financial reports for executive management, the board of directors, and regulatory authorities
Payroll administration and reporting
Labor analytics and reporting
General ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable
Budget development and monitoring
Facilities planning – leases, capital projects, and acquisitions
Fleet management
Contracts and grants management and administration
Adherence to generally accepted accounting principles
Financial and operational reporting – both internal and external

Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree strongly preferred. 10+ years’ experience.
CPA strongly preferred.
Proven history of effective leadership skills required.
