Vectrus Field Service Quality Technician - Central U.S. in United States

V2X is looking for an experienced Field Quality Technican to join our team. This position will support our maintenance contract with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), performing quality inspections of preventive and corrective maintenance on airport checkpoint security screening equipment. This is a hands-on position, working with regionally local airport customers and subcontractors at airports across the region. Work is 75% travel to airport locations in the region, with any remaining work home-based. Region for this position is the Central United States, from Minnesota and Michigan south to Texas.

Responsibilities

Major Job Activities:

  • Performing quality inspections of maintenance activities of complex equipment and systems.

  • Overseeing on-site testing of equipment to ensure proper working order.

  • Develop and implement corrective action plans.

  • Performing ad-hoc and predetermined work assignments with instructions.

  • Following all established guidelines, procedures, and policies.

  • Analyzing data in Maximo computerized maintenance system to look for trends in maintenance performance.

  • Interface with local TSA customers and subcontractor technicians.

  • Managing resources, maintaining schedules, and inspecting repair activities to ensure adherence to contractual service level agreements (SLAs).

  • Working in a customer environment with systems operated in a 24/7 environment which require immediate response times (either while on-shift or after hours on-call) and driving long distances to sites.

    Working Environment:

  • Must be able to work safely and follow safety precautions in extreme environments (temperature, humidity, noise, confined spaces, etc.) around dangerous industrial equipment.

    Physical Activities:

  • Must be able to push / pull 200 lbs.

  • Must be able to move / manipulate equipment weighing up to 1000 lbs. with the assistance of carts, hoists, davit cranes, pallet jacks or other devices as defined in the manuals and Technical Advisory documentation.

  • Job requires frequent bending, stooping, twisting, turning, and working in unusual positions requiring full body mobility.

  • Must be able to work safely and follow safety precautions in extreme environments (temperature, humidity, noise, confined spaces, etc.) around dangerous industrial equipment.

Qualifications

Education / Certifications:

High School Diploma

Minimum (Required) Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years of related Trade experience (electrical, electronic, mechanical) / Military Training (electrical, mechanical, electronics).

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience directly involved in troubleshooting and field repair of electro-mechanical and electronic systems and equipment.

  • Computer literacy; competency in use of all programs within MS Office Suite and aptitude for learning specialized software programs.

  • Individuals shall possess excellent communications skills and have a strong orientation for customer focus and teamwork.

  • Must be willing & able to travel at short notice.

  • Must be able to lift / carry 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to push / pull 200 lbs.

  • Active TSA suitability clearance or ability to obtain TSA suitability clearance through an in-depth background check (TSA eQIP).

    Preferred Experience:

  • 3 years of experience performing maintenance on Checkpoint security screening equipment.
