We’re looking for a highly experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to lead our electrical engineering team in the APAC region. You will join an established engineering team with diverse expertise, including Electrical, Mechanical, and Control Systems. A strong pipeline of projects across the APAC region, including hybrid and complex projects, has promoted significant team growth over the past 12 months. What you’ll do:
Lead and Mentor: Guide and develop the electrical engineering team, ensuring alignment with project goals and company standards.
Design and Engineering: Oversee the design and implementation of electrical systems for mining and power generation projects, ensuring compliance with Australian standards.
Project Leadership: Manage electrical engineering aspects of projects from concept through commissioning, collaborating with other disciplines and stakeholders.
Simulation and Analysis: Utilize tools like PowerFactory and CDEGS to model and optimise electrical systems, ensuring robust performance.
Safety Compliance: Implement safety standards and risk management practices to ensure all designs and installations are secure and compliant.
Client Engagement: Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, delivering technical presentations and reports.
You’ll have the following skills and experience:
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; a Master’s degree or Chartered Professional Engineer certification is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years in electrical design for mining and power generation, with a strong understanding of Australian standards.
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in HV substation design, earthing studies, and simulation tools like PowerFactory and CDEGS.
Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage team dynamics and stakeholder expectations.
Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills, capable of effectively engaging with clients and stakeholders.
