If you like diving into HR data and working with various stakeholders across an organization to make informed data-driven decisions, then this is an exciting opportunity. TriMet is seeking a Senior HR Data Analyst, who acts as a business partner in collecting data from our various HR related databases and turning them into stories. Seeking a candidate with a background in HR with Excel wizardry, skills in pulling data from difficult places, and the ability to tell the story in a meaningful and simplified manner.

The Senior Human Resources Data Analyst collects, compiles, and analyzes HR data, metrics, and statistics, and acts as a business partner and advises and guides leaders and stakeholders throughout the agency on the effective use and interpretation of the analyses for strategic decision-making. This position, in coordination with the HRIS Program Manager, leads human resources data projects, and researches, develops, and recommends new policies and procedures for the collection, storage, analysis and dissemination of human resources data.

This role requires being onsite three (3) days per week.

Serve as a good steward of TriMet by regularly utilizing our transit system to maintain a strong and current understanding of customers’ experiences and of TriMet’s product and service offerings.

Essential Functions

  1. Collects and compiles HR metrics and data from a variety of sources including the human resource information systems (HRIS), and other related HR related databases, employee surveys, exit interviews, employment records, government labor statistics, competitors’ practices, and other sources.

    2 . Analyze data and statistics for trends through the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, selection, performance management, promotion, retention, and separation.

  2. Develop and present objective analyses, observations, findings, conclusions, and recommendations to stakeholders via written reports, oral presentations, data tables and dashboards.

  3. Develop and manage project design and execution for major Human Resources data projects; coordinate with stakeholders to gather relevant feedback; create and implement communication plans for projects. Liaison with Information Technology Division on HR databases.

  4. Design interactive dashboards that offer stakeholders meaningful insights into relevant data; develop user guides to assist in the navigation and accurate interpretation of data visualizations.

  5. Prepares reports of data results, presenting and explaining findings.

  6. Identifies and recommends reasonable short- and long-term goals, milestones, and benchmarks for key performance metrics.

  7. Based on metrics and analysis, makes recommendations for policies and processes to attract, hire, and retain qualified candidates, to motivate and retain employees, to address staffing issues, and to maintain legal compliance.

  8. May assist with performance and compensation review and evaluation processes.

Position Requirements

A minimum of a Bachelors Degree is required with a Bachelors Degree in Business, Statistics, Finance or Public Administration being preferred.

Four (4) years of years total credited experience.*

Three (3) years of experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex HR data, including using data analysis/visualization software is required.

Two (2) years of human resources experience, including utilizing HRIS systems, queries, and reports is preferred.

One (1) year of experience in organizations comprised of union and non-union employees is preferred.

Or any equivalent combination of training or experience.

*The amount of credit a candidate receives for prior years of experience is based on the relevancy of that experience to the required or preferred prerequisites of the job description. Experience is prorated based on hours worked. LRHR assigns and validates the "credited experience".

Salary Range

Minimum: $81,948.00

Maximum: $122,923.00

Salary offers will be determined by a candidate’s education, training and relevant experience. Any final offer of employment will fall within the range stated above. For transparency, we choose to list the full available grade range, however, TriMet’s salary administration process will ultimately determine the final salary offered.
