Job Title:Sr Professional Learning Consultant

Role Summary and Responsibilities:

NWEA’s Professional Learning (PL) Team provides facilitation, coaching, and consultative services to support partners with their professional learning goals. The team is responsible for building capacity within and across schools and districts in a variety of settings by leveraging professional learning initiatives that empower educators to make data informed decisions. We believe implementing evidence-based instructional practices will positively impact student growth and achievement.

As a Sr Consultant on the PL Delivery team, you will draw upon expertise and experience in consultation, facilitation, and coaching to accelerate and deepen the acquisition and application of adult learning contributing to the success and growth of partners. This position contributes to the Professional Learning teams by providing support for in a variety of scenarios. The Sr Consultant will work collaboratively with other teams across NWEA to accomplish internal and external goals. Under guidance from the PL Director, the position responsibilities involve significant contact with partners, PL operations, PL Delivery Leadership, other Consultants, and Partner Accounts.

A successful Sr Consultant will have a deep level knowledge and experience in K-12 education with the ability to apply key concepts and practices to facilitation, staff development, and sales support conversations. The Sr Consultant will have elevated proficiency in at least one NWEA/HMH product/service area in a virtual and in-person setting. This role requires exceptional communication skills, evidence of strong organization skills, attention to detail, and flexibility in a rapidly evolving work environment. A strong commitment to supporting the learning of others and the ability to promote NWEA/HMH offerings are also key attributes to this role. A Sr Consultant exercises a growth mindset, leads by example with transparency, and demonstrates accountability to customers, internal and external.

Primary Accountabilities:

1) External Facilitation

  • Provides professional learning as partners implement NWEA’s products and services.

  • Incorporates adult learning strategies and multiple learning styles within an effective and dynamic learning environment.

  • Participates on delivery teams and/or personally delivers high quality, responsive, agile, and collaborative professional learning to meet the multi-dimensional goals of each partner.

  • Uses Appreciative Inquiry, adult learning research in support of partner learning.

  • In addition to optimal delivery utilization, leads professional learning packages of varying and increased complexity; coordinating with colleagues as needed to achieve success.

  • Establishes and maintains relationships with partner leadership teams in collaboration with Partner Accounts in a manner that respects their nuanced environments.

  • Monitors, documents, and shares progress toward partner goals

  • Collaborates with other Consultants and PL Directors, as applicable, to configure and/or request customization of existing PL assets to align with partner needs and budget.

    2) Growth and Development

  • Where applicable/when asked, supports the development and learning needs of fellow consultants, supports thought leadership through blogs, conference presentations, etc.

  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to create and lead effective and efficient staff professional learning experiences for colleagues to grow the individual and collective expertise related to the products/services/offerings provided by the organization.

  • Under the direction of the PL Delivery Director, participates in mentorship.

  • Demonstrates high proficiency with NWEA/HMH business systems and processes.

    3) Support Partner Accounts

  • Support partners and Partner Accounts with professional learning proposal planning, selection of offerings and plan design, and other pre-sales supports.

  • Track your support of Partner Accounts professional learning positioning.

    What You’ll Need to be Successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field

  • Master’s degree in education or related field; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered in lieu of master’s degree.

  • Minimum of three years’ K-12 experience facilitating professional learning, coaching school leaders, and/or consulting using data to inform decision-making.

    Nice to Have:

  • Minimum of five years’ experience working with school leadership teams.

  • Experience with NWEA products and services.

  • Proficiency in Google Suite.

    Physical Requirements :

  • Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing).

  • Constantly operates a computer.

  • Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.

  • Must travel within the Las Vegas area daily.

  • Must be willing to travel up to 20% outside the Las Vegas area.
