Summary:
The Unit Secretary/MonitorTech is responsible for performing general clerical and communication duties of an assigned unit. The unit secretary is also cross trained as a monitor tech who is responsible for identifying normal rhythms/dysrhythmias and lethal arrhythmias, reporting these findings to the appropriate personnel and labeling and mounting rhythm strips. Preferred certification and licensure includes HUC (Health Unit Coordinator). Required skills includes performing, interpreting and understanding EKG tests.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required Certification: None Required, EMT or EKG Certification preferred
Qualifications: Must be able to pass an exam identifying basic rhythms after being trained.
Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; may also qualify with a Certificate of Completion
