Job Description
The Sr. Director, Digital Transformation will lead a complex team responsible for creating the global customer experiences through impactful initiatives. This role will lead an organization through change. Key elements of this role include strategy development and execution, strong cross-company collaborations, and a strong focus on our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Transformation and Automation:
Collaborate to define the organization's transformation goals and objectives.
Evaluate existing business processes, identify improvement areas, and craft comprehensive automation transformation strategies.
Drive the execution of organizational change initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
Find opportunities to improve operations, increase efficiency, and reduce costs through automation.
Ensure process redesign efforts progress to optimize workflow and improve efficiency across the organization.
Implement performance metrics and tracking mechanisms to measure the success of the change.
People Management and Organizational Leadership:
Direct a team of approximately 50 colleagues through the change process, improving colleague engagement, team culture, and colleague development.
Develop robust talent strategies, including active development of internal talent.
Build a successful team by hiring, developing, and engaging hard-working and motivated employees.
Provide leadership and guidance to collaborative teams during the transformation process. Develop organizational change plans to effectively communicate and handle the impact of transformation initiatives on colleagues and customers.
Cultivate continuous improvement and drive adoption of new processes and technologies.
Collaborative Work with Partners:
Develop positive relationships with collaborators, customers, partners, and team members.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective implementation of transformation strategies.
Participate in leadership meetings and long-term planning, which involves establishing goals, strategies and accountability for execution and outcomes.
Provide regular updates on progress, challenges, and achievements to senior leadership.
Represent the organization externally at conferences and tradeshows.
Background/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in scientific, business, finance, or technical field required; Master’s degree or MBA strongly preferred.
5+ years in the life sciences industry, product management, or strategy/market development.
2 years+ in leading business transformation initiatives or consulting.
Ability to successfully drive large-scale business transformation projects.
Strong financial (P&L), argument development, and analytical capabilities.
Technical competence and familiarity with bioproduction or closely related industry.
Ability to make clear decisions in ambiguous scenarios.
Driven by the desire to achieve objectives promptly and effectively.
Strong management, project management, and planning skills, and comfortable making decisions.
Ability to work in a matrix structure.
Familiarity with industry-standard methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma or Agile.
