UL, LLC Software Technical Support Specialist in Warrington, United Kingdom

As our global footprint expands, we seek a Software Technical Support Specialist to join our Engineered Materials group. This role will be a remote-based position from within the UK.

As a Software Technical Support Specialist, you will be responsible for the following:

• Ticket management within the support team and responsible for meeting all customer SLA’s.

• Scoping, planning, specifying, testing, and delivering new and existing software features and releases.

• Adhering to best practices used within the development team.

Day to day you will be a working member of the support team which includes, resolving customer issues and problems in an agreed timeframe.

  • You will also be expected to produce specifications in relation to change request by customers.

  • You will be expected to develop quality solutions to any change requests, in a timely manner, which meets the needs of the business and its customers.

  • You will have customer-facing experience, interacting with customers as and when required.

  • You will keep abreast of new technologies and promote the benefits of using them.

  • Actively managing your ticket queue and keeping customer appraised of progress.

  • Analysing and resolving of customer issues.

  • Meeting all customer SLA’s which align to operational KPI’s.

  • Analysing requirements and produce specification documents.

  • Bug fixing and software development in Java.

  • Design, write and implement efficient and performant code.

  • Adhering to best practices used within the development area.

  • Adhering to quality development standards including unit and regression testing.

  • Delivery of software to specification, timescales, and deadlines.

  • Providing excellent customer service, interacting with customers as required.

  • You will keep abreast of new technologies and promote the benefits of using them.

  • Assist with OAT and UAT

  • Perform any other tasks or duties assigned by your manager or the Leadership team.

  • Actively commit to self-development.

To attend all internal and external meetings and training courses.

  • Technical background with a good degree in Engineering, Physics, IT, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.

  • Must have a background in Java and be competent in writing Java code.

  • Ability to work well under pressure with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work closely and develop long term professional relationships with customers.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Enthusiasm, commitment, motivated self-starter, and team player.
