House of Representatives CAO Immediate Office Intern, Fall in Washington DC, District Of Columbia

Summary This position is in the Immediate Office, Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), U.S. House of Representatives (House), serving as an Intern and is appointed on a temporary basis for a period not to exceed 120 days. Responsibilities Job Summary: The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides operations support services and business solutions to the community of 10,000 House Members, Officers, and staff. The CAO organization comprises more than 700 technical and administrative staff working in a variety of areas, including information technology, finance, budget management, human resources, payroll, childcare, food and vending, procurement, logistics and administrative counsel. This position is in the Immediate Office, Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), U.S. House of Representatives (House), serving as an Intern and is appointed on a temporary basis for a period not to exceed 120 days. The Intern will be provided a structured educational opportunity through exposure to the business operations of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Intern will have the opportunity to rotate through different assignments to gain real life experience for their degree, certification, or professional development. This position does not have day-to-day supervisory/managerial responsibilities. The Fall Internship will begin with orientation September 24th. * paid at an annual rate of $35,677 not to exceed 120 days * The CAO standard business hours are 8:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week internship that will require onsite attendance in Washington, D.C. Primary Duties/Responsibilities: · Provides administrative or operational support on various projects and activities. · Provides and projects a positive customer-focused professional image in all interactions. · Conduct data analysis and generate reports upon request in support of programs and projects. · Provide a welcoming environment and positive first impression of the office to visitors and other VIPs. · Handle incoming calls with poise, professionalism, and promptness. · Performs other official duties and special projects as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Requirements: · High school diploma · Associate degree or certification from an accredited business or technical school, or enrolled student in a community college, junior college, university or graduate school program. · This is a full-time, in-person position, 40 hours a week, M-F. *Continued employment is contingent upon satisfactorily completing a criminal history records check (or other applicable security clearance) and a pre-employment drug-test (pre-identified position only) Education Additional Information
