Naval Facilities Engineering Command SECURITY SPECIALIST in Washington Navy Yard, District Of Columbia

Summary You will serve as a Security Specialist in the Command Services of NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING SYSTEMS COMMAND. Responsibilities You will advise and assist personnel for the completion of clearance requests. You will advise management officials and others regarding the interpretation and application of security policy, regulations, requirements, and guidelines. You will analyze the Physical Security program of structures and facilities within the command and tenant activities. You will review Physical Security assessments to identify security threats. You will oversee and manage the Personnel Security clearance program (e.g. submitted requests and investigations) for accurate accesses required for employees. You will analyze and resolve security problems using a working knowledge of DoD and Agency policies. You will oversee the Industrial Security Program, working with stakeholders regarding security aspects of contracts. You will communicate security policies and programs to management and senior-level leaders, both verbally and in written form. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: 1) Providing security support in functional areas that include personnel security, industrial security, and physical security; 2) Interpreting and implementing security procedures per established policies 3) Determining suitability and security eligibility of personnel for all security clearance levels; 4) Conducting security surveys, inspections, and/or investigations which may involve conflicting or inadequate information."
