Actalent Quality Control Technician in WAUKESHA, Wisconsin

Job Title: Quality Control TechnicianJob Description

Perform QC testing on the production floor including metal detection checks, leak tests, percentage tests, etc. Conduct line audits once every hour on each production line including first piece, in-process, and final inspections/QC tests. Perform calculations to determine percentages of materials and total ounces. Conduct basic testing including moisture, salt, and fat (automated testing). Document daily numbers and testing performed in both paper and computer formats. Collaborate with production personnel daily to perform QC checks and help correct any errors that may occur.

Responsibilities

Essential Skills

  • Understanding of quality control processes in manufacturing.

  • Understanding of food quality processes.

  • Ability to perform basic math calculations using a calculator, such as percentages.

  • Knowledge of GMP, line audit, percentage, QC, and quality assurance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma, HSED, or GED.

  • 1+ Years of Food Quality Control experience including HACCP.

  • Ability to perform percentage calculations (e.g., 60% of 12 ounces = 7.2 ounces).

Work Environment

This is a smaller food manufacturing company producing large volumes of product for major customers such as CVS and Costco, with potential for increased product output due to new larger customers. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends during the busy season. The Quality Control Technician will be cross-trained in every aspect of the quality department, with some days involving no lab work and others entirely in the lab. Flexibility and willingness to perform various quality tasks are essential. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $41600.00/yr.
